Farmed Animal Advocacy in Uganda

On behalf of AWeCCA, Animal Ask conducted a research about the welfare of farmed animals identifying opportunities for improving farm animal welfare in Uganda. From this research, it was realized that farmed fish and chickens experience poorer conditions as compared to other farmed animals and thus improving their welfare should be considered as top priority.

Our team led by Dr. Ssuna Paul recently contributed to ANAW’s research in Uganda to investigate the status of caged chickens, consumer awareness about welfare concerns of caged chickens and policy and legislative framework present regarding caged farming.
